SIBBA Academic Scholarship
One $2,000 scholarship, based on academics, is available from the State of Iowa Black Belt Association. The deadline for receipt of application is February 29, 2024. It is the State of Iowa Black Belt Association's goal to award all scholarships to deserving students. Scholarships will be awarded at the ISU Martial Arts' Banquet on March 23, 2024. The State of Iowa Black Belt Association reserves the right to award more than three scholarships.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
1. Have a minimum GPA (undergraduate students: 3.0; graduate students: 3.5)
2. Be a registered full-time student during the fall and spring semesters that she/he is applying for the scholarship (undergraduate students: minimum of 12 credit-hours; graduate students: 9 credit-hours; if assistantships or other duties necessitate fewer hours, submit college or university documentation of full-time status).
3. Have attained the Intermediate rank of Green Belt (or equivalent) or higher.
4. Be a current member of the State of Iowa Black Belt Association.
5. Be an active, paid member of an affiliated SIBBA club.
6. Not participate in or be found guilty of any violent or illegal acts.
SIBBA reserves the right to forfeit any scholarship under these circumstances.
